Lets be honest, any trip out and a chat
with people our own age is better than TV repeats or looking
out the window at the same old things. We thank the Business
Community for their past support and hope it will continue. We know in the past things can get stale
and boring, the same old thing week after week but with the
help of the supporters like yourselves and others we might
improve things, a little.
Tendring Transport do a great job for us
all and we should be proud of this and when we do new trips
out we will be looking for rest places which are undercover,
and places of interest for our members, and not involving
too much walking. No one, including myself, appreciate how
much time and effort went into these trips and the
entertainment, all to serve two hours a fortnight, its truly
astounding but so very vital to our members, some of whom
may not see a sole from one week to another or hear another
human voice other than TV or radio.
This is ok but lacks the warmth of
humanity. There is no sadder thing than loneliness, this can
be disabling in itself. A birth place at times for mental
illness, I think. So clubs like ours are so important to a
community and the community involvement. We also appreciate
the help of our Parish Council. We will do our best to bring
a smile to our members faces, yes Nigel even your blind dog
- I must not forget his water again - sorry. It is not often
I get the chance to speak from the heart, so I have made the
most of it.
My name is James Smith and I am the new
Chairman for this year. We also have a new Secretary, Mrs.
Kathy Small and a new Treasurer Mrs. Rosemary Saunders, so
if things stay right, we have three new signatories to
document. So we may call on you the Business Community from
time to time for a small donation of some kind for raffles
etc. We need such help to raise much needed funds and with
your help we will. In any case thanks to you all. Mr.
J.M.Smith.
