Join the Friends and help maintain
our beautiful and historic church. It is deservedly Listed
Grade 1, but needs regular maintenance to keep it in good
repair. Membership is only £5 per year, but if you are a
tax-payer, we can, as a registered Charity, increase this by
about 28%!
The Friends have raised over £40,000 over
the years to help pay for works including repairs to the
roof, floor, fencing and more recently, £10,500 towards the
restoration of the Bells and Bell-Frame, £7600 for damp
problems, and in the last 2 years, (2007 & '8) £7,500
towards the glazing of the tower arch, new heating and
lighting.
Parts of the Church are about 890 years
old. The Tudor brick arches and hammer beam roof date from c
1530s. Even the Victorian Chancel restoration was l25 years
ago! Maintenance is ongoing
