Time has moved on and Membership of the
Group is now twenty-four, the absolute maximum for comfort
and safety. The venue is still the St. Osyth Methodist
School room, and with the kind permission of the Chapel
Authorities, Members can use the Chapel itself - the light
in there is wonderful but during the winter, the temperature
is dodgy!
The Programme Secretary, Carol Ryall, has
guided the Members to a very comprehensive programme for the
year and it is to be hoped that the weather will be more
helpful regarding outside activities. The Exhibition
Secretary, Joan Wrigley, is always on the lookout for new
venues or exhibiting the Members’ work. The Group exhibits
regularly in the Parish Church during the August Festival
and at the Westcliff Theatre in November.
The quality of the work done continues to
be excellent and the number of sales made during the past
few months bears witness to this. As always, the Members
will tackle anything and are never fazed by new methods,
materials or subjects. Visiting artists giving their
demonstrations, are always very impressed by what they see
and hear, and by the friendliness of their reception
never a dull moment!
